Estimating the impact of educational technology in public schools in Guatemala
MANAUS conducted an evaluation to determine the impact of computer labs and teacher training on academic performance of students in public schools throughout Guatemala. The methodology included survey design and implementation, randomized sampling of treatment and comparison groups, and statistical analysis of results. We also developed an indicator framework to allow FUNSEPA to gather better metrics for monitoring and reporting. As part of the project, our team also engaged with key actors in the area of education in Guatemala, including government agencies and multilateral organizations. A summary report can be downloaded from our publications page. We are now conducting another impact evaluation on FUNSEPA's new pilot program in the region of Sacatepequez, which uses the Khan Academy platform to improve learning.
