Mi Tienda: Establishing an Integrated Rural Supply Network in Mexico

This report presents the case of Mi Tienda, a social mission based company conceived by a group of highly respected entrepreneurs led by one of the founders of Banco Compartamos, Latin America’s largest microfinance institution.

CSR Practices in Venezuela: The Case of Empresas Polar

This article showcases the corporate social responsibility initiatives implemented by Empresas Polar, Venezuela’s largest food manufacturer and distributor, and its ability to survive the seizure policies of Hugo Chávez. The story of Empresas Polar provides a useful object lesson in how one company turned its CSR programs into a successful business defense against a powerful, predatory regime. The article was co-authored by our Global Research Manager, Carlued Leon.

FUNSEPA Monitoring & Evaluation Project Report

FUNSEPA, 2012

This report presents the results of an evaluation to determine the impact of computer labs and teacher training on the educational improvement of public school students throughout Guatemala. Its methodology involved in-country visits, survey design and implementation, randomized sampling, a comparison group, and statistical analysis of results. The final deliverable included results on academic achievement, dropout rates, and probability of passing the academic year.
